EU Film Festival in Mozambique
The 15th edition of the European film festival in Mozambique takes place from 10 to 24 May in Maputo, from 15 to 30 June in Beira and from 22 to 29 July in Imhambane. 14 European films will be shown. The Flemish movie that will be screened during the festival is The Broken Circle Breakdown (Ciclo Interrompido), which was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Foreign Language Film in 2014. You can see it in Maputo on 11 May at 17:00 and on 18 May at 19:30 at the CCFM (Centro Cultural Franco Mocambicano): Avenida Samora Machel, nº468, CP 491 - Maputo Cidade. In Beira you can watch it on 16 June at 18:00 at CUCA-UP (Centro Universitario de Cultura e Artes, Praca 3 de Fevereiro, Ponta Gea. On 26 July at 18:30, the film will be screened in Inhambane at Cine-teatro Tofo, Rua da Cultura.

11,25 million for international climate finance

Flanders, Wallonia and the Brussels Capital Region will donate 11 million euro to the Adaptation Fund, of which Flanders will provide 6,25 million euro. This was announced by Minister Schauvliege on 17 November at the Climate Conference in Marrakesh. This international UN fund supports developing countries in adapting to climate change. In addition to this contribution, the Government of Flanders pledged a further 5 million euro on 18 November towards three innovative climate projects in Africa.

25 years of cooperation between the ILO and Flanders

On Thursday 10 November, the ILO Country office for South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland and the General Representation fo the Government of Flanders in Southern Africa celebrated over 2 decades of cooperation with a celebration dinner to mark this "silver wedding anniversary". Guests included past and present project beneficiaries, government officials and members of the diplomatic community. A lively, interactive followed during which guests shared personal memories and testmonies of past projects which were captured on paper by graphic artist Grant Johnson of Graphic Harvest CT.
