On 5 and 6 March, Minister-president Geert Bourgeois received the minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development of Malawi, Joseph Mwanamvekha in Flanders, following the Minister-president’s visit to Malawi in August 2017. Minister-president Bourgeois and minister Mwanamvekha jointly visited the REO horticulture auction in Roeselare.
On 23 February, the Government of Flanders granted 900,000 euros to the Flanders – ILO Trust Fund. This contribution enables funding for new projects of the International Labor Organisation in the period 2018-2019. The Flanders-ILO Trust Fund, created in 2001, receives Flemish funds on a biennial basis.

From 4 to 9 December the Youth Division of the Department of Culture, Youth and Media received a delegation from the South African National Youth Development Agency (NYDA). They discussed the planning for their joint activities for 2018. Minister Sven Gatz spoke with members of the delegation about the current youth cooperation.
