SU Saxophone Symposium: Liam Burden & Kurt Bertels in Concert @ Endler Hall, Stellenbosch

On Saturday 13 April, the Department of Music at Stellenbosch University is hosting a Saxophone Symposium, which will end with a Concert at 16:00 featuring Departmental saxophone lecturer, Liam Burden, and Kurt Bertels, classical saxophonist and post-doctoral researcher from the Royal Conservatory and Vrije Universiteit Brussels.

The performance will also feature saxophone students from the Department of Music, and the University of Stellenbosch Symphonic Wind Ensemble, conducted by guest extraordinary-professor (brass, conducting) in the Department, Rik Ghesquière.

A Symphony of Spheres

Art@Africa has the pleasure of inviting you to the unveiling of Brendon Edwards’s first Muse-Spheric sculptural piece "A Symphony of Spheres”.

This monumental masterpiece, based on the sound-wave of Beethoven’s Fifth and Pythagoras’s Music of The Spheres is to be held in the new Art@Africa Sculpture Garden on the grounds of Perfume Privé Workshop – next to the Huguenot Monument in Franschhoek.

Saturday 24th of September at 11am.

The exhibition will be opened by Rik Ghesquière, famous Flemish Conductor, whose visit bto South Africa is made possible with support of the Delegation of Flanders in Southern Africa.

The launch is followed by a Garden party, sponsored by Art@Africa, Perfume Privé Workshop, KWV and the Belgian Beer Company.
