Flemish street art in Cape Town

Harrington Street in Cape Town has acquired a whole new look, thanks to Flemish street artist Smates. With the support of the Government of Flanders in collaboration with Baz-Art, Smates (Bart Smeets), has created a 400 m2 public art work - the largest mural in Cape Town. Capetonians and visitors were able to watch the artist at work from 5 to 11 November.

Entitled Bone Tie, the mural will act as billboard for the Third International Public Art Festival (IPAF Festival) taking place in Salt River, Cape Town from 9-17 February 2018, themed “Generation Next. Thanks to Baz-Art, Salt River and Woodstock streets have metamorphosed into an open-air national art gallery which boasts over 100 public artworks generated through the IPAF over the past 2 years.
